KELLY ANNE CLARK about

A native of Flint, Michigan, Kelly Anne Clark’s talent and charisma were both clearly apparent by a young age, when in middle school she leveraged her charm to talk ‘Fireman 1’ into giving her one of his only-two lines* in her debut stage performance as ‘Fireman 2’ in the 8th Grade production of PENELOPE, PRIDE OF THE PICKLE FACTORY.
Deciding to use her powers for good, Kelly Anne went on to attend Central fine arts magnet high school, where she didn't have to trick anyone into giving her their lines, playing leads in THE FANTASTICKS, CAROUSEL, and DAVID AND LISA, as well as their touring children's show SALLY AND SAM. After high school, Kelly kicked off her professional career with several summers with the Michigan Shakespeare Festival, while pursuing her BFA from University of Michigan. During college she also worked with Tibbits Summer Theatre, Alabama Children’s Theatre, The New Vic Supper Theater, and The Rosier Players, (America's longest-running tent show touring company), and was one of the founding members of Flint’s Buckham Alley Theatre.
Relocating to Chicago after graduation, Kelly Anne soon made a name for herself as a musical theater standout, becoming an audience favorite at such stalwarts as Marriott Lincolnshire, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Illinois Theatre Center, The Mercury, Northlight, Light Opera Works, First Folio, and Oak Park Festival Theater, among others. Her regional work includes Stages St Louis, Peninsula Players, Milwaukee Rep, The Gem, and Off-Broadway’s Westside Theater, where she performed in just one of the five productions of I LOVE YOU YOU’RE PERFECT NOW CHANGE that grace her resume (including a yearlong run at Chicago's The Royal George).
Career highlights include the pre-Broadway production of BEACHES THE MUSICAL at Drury Lane Oakbrook, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN with Patti LuPone for the Ravia Festival, the American premiere of the Best Musical Jeff Award-winner THE HOUSE OF MARTIN GUERRE at The Goodman, creating the role of Granny in Theatre At The Center's world premiere of BEVERLY HILLBILLIES THE MUSICAL, receiving a Best Supporting Actress Jeff Award nomination for her work as Philia in Drury Lane’s A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, and winning the Jeff Award for Best Supporting Actress for her acclaimed performance as Norma in Marriott’s VICTOR VICTORIA.
